Blogging Software
Hi everyone.
I am going to be moving my blog, http://sensualarousal.blogspot.com, off of blogger. Does anyone know of any good blogging software to use. Of course I would prefer free but I am willing to pay. My only requirment is that it have a template for a 3 column blog and it allows me to post multiple pics (that enlarge) in the same post. (examples of that can be seen on my current blog. Of course, being a newbie and a dummy, I need it to be as user frendly as possible. Thanks |

Just linking two solid solutions for you. One free the other way pay. Both might have addon features for what you are looking for. Enjoy.

one more thing
I guess it goes without out saying but if it is a company that also host I do not want them to be able to delete me because of 'obscene' content as blogger can.
thanks |

WordPress and MovableType are both respected blog scripts. You run them on your own hosting so no chance of getting deleted (except accidentally by you, lol). I am using WordPress right now on my very neglected blog and find it very easy to work with.

I've used Wordpress and I highly recommend it. Super easy admin interface, the setup is simple, and customization isn't too tough.
Did Blogger get you for obscene content? |

Did blogger do that to you
No blogger has not done that to me. However, a friend of a friend had that happen to her site. I do not want to take any chances. It seems that the John Ashcroft and the thought police are everywhere now-a-days.

Big reason I wanted to host my own blogs, never have to worry about them being removed or the service being terminated or going out.
I've been using movabletype for a while now, and really like it. As for pictures enlarging, you can set pictures to open in a pop-up window when the surfer clicks on them. I dont know if thats whats your looking for. There might be more image add-ons, I have'nt checked them all. Though word press is very popular, I think the main reason being that it's free. ronnie |

Thanks, Ronnie
As I have been researching various blogging programs I was coming to the conclusion that moveabletype is the best option for me. It is great to hear that it works well for you. Do you, or anyone reading this, have any experience with blogjet.com. It is a way to interface with the blogging software. Alot of it seems to be repeative and not needed with moveabletype. However, with their software you can add a voice message to any blog post! I am very excited with that possibility. I think it would really catch the eye (ear) of a surfer and allow for a more intimate experience. If you or anyone had experience with blogjet and the 'voice' messages I would love to hear your experience and advice. thanks, lori |

Movabletype was recommend to me by a very popular blogger, so thats what kinda of sold me, though I was looking at it anyways.
I have no experience with the site you mentioned, maybe some one else here does. I am guessing the surfer needs to do something, like click a link to hear the voice message right? Sure dont want sounds or voice coming on with out the surfer knowing it. Surfers are often surfering porn at work or places where sound can be heard by others, which might not be good. Other question, where are the voice files stored? If your serving them, could cost you some bandwidth, something to think about. You can also make your own messages, say in mp3 and make them playable on your site. P.S. You have a good looking blog.. ronnie |

thansk Ronnie- re: voices and bandwidth
Yes Ronnie. My understanding is that in order for a surfer to hear my sexy voice (lol) a surfer would have to click a tab, just like you would to post / read a comment. Don't want some guys boss or wife (perhaps in some cases that is the same person) to hear me telling them that 'affiliate x' has the sexiest girls at an inappropriate time.
The band width issue is a good one. I am such a newbie that I am not sure how to even measure this type of thing. On blogger.com I have never had to worry about issues like that. Thanks for the heads-up. I will look into it further. Lori |

You might look at the new Flash Blogger software through Coffee Cup. I haven't tried it, but it's like only $29.
