Google PR -- how did you do?

New update today, how did you do?

One site that was PR5 dropped to PR4, but 6 others jumped up to PR5 *happy dance*.

all my doorway pages remained unchanged, my main site (amateur-flix.com) dropped to 0. I changed the page titles & now it's back at 3.

that's weird - I checked the PR again a moment after making this post & it's showing PR 0 again. Is it possible the toolbar just isn't connecting with google, giving the PR 0 rating?

Your links says "www.amateur..." but the actual link only goes to ://amateur...

It's zero with the ://amateur but a 2 with the www.amateur...

that's peculiar - this PR thing is a mystery to me... I've heard that it's based mainly on the number of sites that link to yours, but the index.html page on this site & all my doorways only rank a PR 2, yet the second page of the amateur-flix site rates PR3 and has no links to other sites.

I don't think it's solely based on the number of sites linking to you -- my main site (according to Alexa) has 135 sites linking to it and is PR5 and has been for a while now. My closed site is PR5 (well, dropped to 4) and isn't even on any of my index pages with a link.

When I opened hairywebsitereviews, within days it was PR4. Now it's PR0. 'Splain that

I don't think many sites link to Adult Site Lance but it's now PR5, and my toy store is only linked from within my own sites and is probably only on 20 of them, yet jumped to PR5.

ok, i really want to know what pr is good for, other than making one feel the warm and fuzzies?

one of my pals, paulhem to those of you who know him, has about 50 #1 ranked google pages for very popular gay search terms, and his best pr is 2. no 5's, no 7's, just 2's and 1's. and he's GOT TOP BILLING on these sites.

so what is the deal with pr? anybody know? it seems like more of a badge of honor than an actual measure of what's important -- ie, what # you show up on when somebody types in your search term.

now don't get me wrong... i'm always happy when i see a good one on one of my sites... my highest is pr 5, and it's a non-adult site (i think non-adult sites are easier to get high pr).

I have roughly 15 doorway pages (all on the index.html of different domains) in addition to the main site; all of them have PR of only 2; all of them pass every 'page analyzer' I've ever checked with not a single problem; I've submitted them to all the major SE's, yet most will not show up in the SE's unless I type in the exact domainname.com

For quite a while only one page from my site would show on google at all - the page only had 2257 info with no links on it. Finally a second page starting showing up in the results - a page that had been removed months prior.

Mine dropped to PR2 and fluctuates between PR2 & PR3. Mind you I have only just started linking to other sites, but still a drop sucks!

That said, my keywords still pop up at the top of Googles indexing so I can't complain.

My main website went from 3 to 4 and another of my sites went from 0 to 3 and the rest stayed the same.

I don't think it's 'just' a badge of honor as the sites that jumped also jumped and are in the top few listings for their main keywords.

I have in fact had one of your sites hairypictures.net linked for months. I stuck it on my links page out of respect for the great advice you were dishing out to myself and others.

A few weeks ago, before I started getting link trades setu properly, I hit PR3 on my main page. I'm adding more links now, from and to my main TGP page, I want the traffic there rather than to the frontpage.

I'm hoping it will increase my PR in the coming weeks.

Actually both are quite important.

SEO is what is getting me to the top of Googles Indexing. However if another site were to compete with me using exactly the same SEO that I use, keywords and all, then the PR level will and does factor into it.

So while I have focued on the optomising in the past, if I want to stay at the top, then my PR is very important.

Having read what I have so far, I'd say that PR is a big deal, at least with Google.

Several sites stayed the same ... but my gaydicks site went from pr2 to a pr4, so I'm happy about that... since it's the one I pretty much concentrated on lately for working up some free sites, link trades, keyword adjustments, etc. Nice to see the work paying off.

Main page at PR5, index2 fell to PR3 and the TGP is PR4. Not bad. My keywords are getting hit better now. Which makes me happy!

I agree with you, it's not just a badge, and your explanation made a lot of sense. PR is a bit complicated but it truly does count in the grand scheme of things.
