My first year of porn sales stats

Despite having been a member here for what, 5 years or more, this is really the very first year I had an actual porn site and really tried to sell adult.

The first several years I was here I was a wet newbie just making mistakes. The next few years I just hung out here as I made only mainstream sites.

Finally last year I discovered WP, which I really click with and is my preferred tool of trade. After making some mainstream sites with that, I finally made my first real adult site around Feb. of this year.

I also have around a dozen other programs that use nats so they pay me with their own program. Then I have a dating program, mainstream affiliates and finally my google adsense stuff from my mainstream sites.

So what do you think, is that okay for a first year on an adult site? I don't think I did too bad for the first year of having adult stuff. I admit it's taken me a LONG time to get my act together and see the light!!!

My new mainstream site I just made I predict will make more than all my other sites combined at the end of next year. All in all I'm happy, if just a little upset with how long it takes me to make and learn things on the net.

So thanks to all here at Cozy for putting up with all my questions, as you can see you all helped me have my first successful year!

Far be it for me to say whether that's okay or not - my sales fluctuate and I have also been lucky on and off - and I don't really remember when you started on your blogs full blown (my memory is shot). Looking at your ccbill stats I would say that while that's a very small amount of money, your conversion ratio hovering around 1:600 is quite good. Now just try to figure out how to increase that income hundredfold and you can spend your days sipping Mai Tais by the pool comparing notes with Hammer.

I'm kicking myself because my ccbill stats dont say anything near that... but i use mostly nats sponsors. I really don't know what i make until april and base my progress on checks received rather then current sales.

I don't think your stats are bad at all for one sponsor, and especially cc bill sponsors. Like balls I have a ton of different sponsors that mostly use nats. I can get a rough estimate with nifty stats but not my total for the year.

I will note one thing. The ratio for your blogging isn't that much different than my gallery submissions ratio (which is also equal roughly to my blogging/splogging ratio).

You might want to look into padding your stats with some galleries in 2009 because it should increase your income, will definitely increase your traffic/alexa ranking, and shouldn't take too much time out of your day if you use chameleon (or something like it.

You might want to find a cheaper host (just for galleries), and divert some of the traffic, or stick with pictures and not movies if you're intent on padding that particular site.

You might want to start picking up additional sponsors too. You can only do so much with the same ones for so long, even if they do come through every now and then and work in cycles.

But like I said, not bad at all considering you're only blogging and basically using only a couple of blogs (if that many if I'm understanding correctly)

It's fucking awesome, man. I thought you already had it. It's awesome cause it collects all the nats sponsors which everyone who lasts long enough with or adds programs usually moves up to sooner or later.

I don't know if it will work this year for you, but at the end of next year you'll be able to set the dates and click the total at the bottom and be able to get a fairly rough idea of how you did (of course you'll probably have some problem sites when glitches happen during the year but the main ones usually work fairly well all year long as long as they don't upgrade or stay down too long).

There's actually a handful of good people there. You just have to be careful and weed your way through all the nonsense and bullshit, (but sometimes the nonsense and bullshit can be fun)

You'll definitely get a lot more out of this place, especially if you're starting out green and don't have a clue. I wouldn't have made it out of the gate if not for this place. That's a fact. I had actually begun crawling around a board (supposedly) similiar to this one for a couple months that I'll never go back to because I decided they aren't what they claim to be.

There are other places, but this is definitely the place to be, especially, especially if you are starting out.

I think you are doing fantastic Bill, you have absolutely figured out "the game". Just keep your head down and keep working hard, and you will continue to see your profits grow in the new year.

I think the hardest thing you may face in the new year is a loss of excitement. You'll have days where it is hard to keep motivated. But I think you'll push through no problem.

I actually made about $7,000 less selling porn this year than last, due to a myriad of reasons, but hoping to rebound this year, if I can only find a way to insert a few more hours into each day.
