Thoughts from a burnt out webmaster

I don't know what it is about the holiday season but its usually my most productive time of the year. But the last week or so im feeling a bit burnt out. I don't know about you people but sitting here staring at my porn/adult website all day is starting to bore the hell out of me. Just the thought of looking at another Latin boob makes me want to rip my eyes out. Not a good thing since this is probably the only time of the year that I get enough time off from my day job to actually sit down and and do some real work. So maybe I need a break from both my day and night jobs. Anyone else in here ever get burned out from this thankless job of selling smut?

sure, especially when i need to write 5-10 blog post in a day or spend a week creating freesites and galleries I can get a bit bored.

Problem is LatinLuvin, that this is the time of the year we need to work the hardest to prepare for the after Xmas porn rush.

I find that once i get tired of a project i move onto something a little different. Ill blog one day, create sites and galleries another, then maybe work on my linklist for a day. This cycle repeats itself over and over, but keeps me mildly entertained.

This will be my first winter having a porn site. Is it really true you get a surge of sales in the winter? Damn I hope so!

I find that the writing I do for others is really getting me bored out of my mind. I end up wasting soooo much time because I want to put off the writing.

However I still have that excitement of building my own sites up, I look forward to when I have the time for that. Plus I always try to write about different things so it's not just a mind numbing post after post of the same crap,,,,,, like the writing I do for others!!!

Sometimes you need to get away from it all and just come back fresh. I was supposed to be doing that today but it looks like maybe tomorrow, or the next day...

Sometimes I will start a new project because I'm bored. It isn't always an option because I can be too busy, but it's a great way to get excited again.

Maybe you need to jump into a new niche for a little bit?

Doing anything on a repetitive basis gets boring but, would you rather be bored looking at Latin tits or working on an assembly line at a factory or taking orders at McDonald's?

I avoid boredom by doing lots of different things. All of my work is Internet related but I do a variety of things both porn and mainstream. I'd say that diversity was the secret to avoiding boredom.

I agree with Hammer on this one. I like to spread myself out over many different types of projects and whenever I feel bored with something, I can move on and work a little on something else.

Usually switching between my sites, but still the same work, so…watching a movie from time to time, rarely going out to play some pool. Holyday…once a year it’s enough.

Boredom is merely a state of mind, no one actually suffers from boredom, and I don't know anyone that takes medication for boredom. But, with regard to pulling down a day job and trying to maintain an online business, it's a royal bitch! I come home night after night from a stressful day job, then have the daunting tasks of trying to be creative, access all of the mail and forums that I'm unable to access during the day. Then there are all of the labor intensive aspects to running and building sites, picture galleries, video, editing, etc. Weekends are the worst, come Saturday mornings I'd love to simply spread my wings, but that is the predominate free time schedule.

I can honestly say I don't tire of the medium itself, I'm a photographer first then melding into webmastering, but the time divisions can be quite tricky and will bog you down if you let it...
