I normally try to target a 2 or 3 word key phase, and almost always the word sex or porn is a main word.
Like lesbian strap-on porn, transvestite porn, blond teen sex and so on. Does anyone think one or the other of porn or sex makes a big difference as far as SE traffic? Both get lots of searches, but is there a big difference when they are hooked with one or two other words? I myself always seem to write much more with porn than with sex. However I could see a newbie surfer, who is what we want, using sex more often. Than again maybe it just comes down to personal preference. What do you think?

sex is a more popular search query. That also means more competition for keywords.
I think this is a case of... six of one and half a dozen of the other. There is no real answer.

I think it's funny because I almost completely disregard the word sex unless I'm describing sex in particular. That's weird and I'm glad you pointed it out.
I've always assumed that when people want to see pictures or videos of sex, they search for porn, not the word sex. And yet I think balls is right that the word sex is a more popular search term. I'd better start using it, mixing it up.. I think it's always wise to mix things up and using both porn and sex is probably a good idea, especially because using more words helps you to make your text more readable for humans, which is rather important. |

I'll give another 2 cents.
I don't think either one does much for you, mostly for the reason balls just said. I use them, don't get me wrong and maybe for one or two domains they are taken into cosideration, but you're much better off micro niching as far as I'm concerned. It all depends on your niche of course, but it's way to general and you'd almost have to be looking for something legit and mainstream and never having looked for porn before to include those words in your search. I think you're much more likely to open and to have opened you're wallet before looking for something more specific and more importantly, different. Again, just my opinion. P.S. has anyone ever thought they created a phrase or two and the next thing you notice one of your sponsers is using that term on one of their latest domain launches and knocking your domains back a page or two? Probably just my imagination.

When two people have sex are they having porn?
IMO the vast majority of people searching for "porn" are looking for free porn so it's not even worth targeting as a keyword. btw porn is the visual representation of a sex act.

Well thank you all for the input and info. I might start thinking more about what key words I use. I do use a lot, this month I will go over 5,000 key phases my main site was found by.
However even using key phases other than porn, it seems like that word is still required a lot just to make sense. As Hammer said, it's what describes the visual act of sex. So, since we push movies and pictures it gets used a lot. If I wanted to just use the phase "lingerie fetish" as my key word, I would still be saying it like this: "So check out this hot lingerie fetish porn with hundreds of pictures" "Wait till you see the kinky lingerie fetish porn movies in here" and so on. It just seems to make sense, even if your just trying to really target "lingerie fetish". So I guess I'll just keep doing what I have been, using lots of key words, and if I happen to throw "porn" in with it a lot, it does not hurt anything. However I do see now that I don't use the word "sex" very much. I'll do a test sometime and see what happens once I use that. With my narrow niches and big site, plus all my hand written post, I can get top words without too much effort. Thanks all!

It's supposed to add weight if you emphasize or highlight the phrase, say making it bold (strong tags) or changing the color or etc.

If you're writing text with the intent of generating search engine traffic I would say that it would make more sense to use the word 'porn' where it was appropriate and not 'sex' but it would depend on the sentence so logically you would probably end up using both words at some point.
If you want to see more hot tranny porn like this, click here. If you want to watch hot trannies having dirty sex, click here.

I don't see either word holding much weight, I wouldn't expext people would google for those terms either. Names and phrases like 'stockings', 'heels', 'big dick', 'trans', 'shemale', he-she' etc.
I will however sometimes use the phrase 'transsexual porn starlet'.
